Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Charlottetown is the capital of Canada’s Prince Edward Island, and it's located on the southern coast of the province. The city is best known as the site of the Charlottetown Conference of 1864, which was a key event leading to the country’s Confederation. Today, Charlottetown is a vibrant city with plenty to see and do. Victoria Row is a popular pedestrian street lined with shops and restaurants, and it's also home to the Confederation Centre of the Arts. The centre is perhaps best known for its musical production of “Anne of Green Gables,” which is based on the classic Canadian book. Just steps away from Victoria Row is St. Dunstan’s Basilica, a beautiful Gothic Revival church. With its mix of history and modern amenities, Charlottetown is a great place to visit or call home.
