Central Vacuum Packages

York Factory, Manitoba

Founded in 1684, York Factory was one of the first European settlements in western Canada. The Hudson's Bay Company built a fur-trading post at the site, which quickly became a thriving community. In addition to being a major trading hub, York Factory served as a base for exploration and as a supply depot for other HBC outposts. The settlement was also an important administrative centre, with a court of justice and a governor's residence. The factory itself was a large complex of buildings that included warehouses, workshops, homes, and offices. Although the settlement was eventually abandoned, it remains an important part of Canadian history.
